The Secret Circle Episode 11 : Fire and Ice

The eleventh episode Fire and Ice started with a burnt dress which Cassie and Diana are trying to change its color. They were preparing for the school dance called "Fire and Ice" which actually depicts good and bad magic stuff. And now, Cassie is slowly going under control of her dark magic even with little things like this. Diana then comforts her that it wasn't her faulty that it might have been a spell that went wrong. Having this happen, Cassie is getting more determined in finding out who her father was. (And I hope this won't be eternal).

Also we can find Adam in this episode trying to advance his way to Cassie as he realized what his father, Ethan, told him about their destiny. He then admits to his father that he felt the connection with Cassie the moment they first met. Now that Diana has made it clear with Adam that she is moving forward, here's his chance to get close to Cassie just in time she needs a company to check on some records of her father see if they could find anything about him. Looking sidelines, Diana still feel that "I miss you Adam" thing. Maybe in this part, I could say she's a mature person who wants to prove something about her feelings and if fate cannot be changed anymore.

So they went to check some records but to Cassie's surprise not even a death certificate was found. However, a deed under his name claimed the abandoned house to be John Blackwell's residence. They checked the basement if there's something they could find as a clue on her father's true identity. And another move from Adam, he invited Cassie to the dance which she turned down because she's more concerned about Diana since they've already started a good friendship.

Meanwhile, Faye is busy with Lee LaBeque, from the previous episode who now seriously wants to help her in getting for herself the dark magic out of Cassie. Lee told everything that Faye needs to channel the dark magic from Cassie to her. Cassie called her when she has the idea that Faye was the one who ripped off a page in her book and made an arrangement to see at the dance with the missing page. But Lee warned Faye that when the dark magic is transferred to her, it has the possibility to take over her. It is still reversible somehow but who knows if Faye gets really excited then it might be a possibility that she won't get back Cassie what she's too much jealous about. Now this part is somewhat giving us a hint that she might be another John Blackwell's other daughter just like what the other witch hunter mentioned in the "Balcoin" episode. But it's too obvious to be Faye as being the stubborn bitchy witch.

So then they performed the ritual and the spell they got from Cassie's book which Lee thought was very old school in extracting dark magic out of a witch and passing it to another witch. This part where they perform a ritual already suggest an intimate scene that will soon happen to these two characters. A ritual where partly undressing your subject is something. You could look at Faye's face while Lee's trying to unzip her back and while he is partly bloodletting her spine with a large fang of which animal I don't know. She could feel that her thirst for the solo dark magic is getting quenched by the ritual as it goes. And the finale, Lee put on Faye the necklace that belongs to Cassie and fire lit the entire symbol where they're stepping on. "I can feel it" is the sign that Faye has the power already. She tested her magic at the hallway where her locker is as she tried unlocking hers and it worked! Now she's getting too excited and went to the dance and try some more.

But this power as she uses it makes the rest of the circle weak except for Cassie. It's like sucking all the energy from the rest and when Cassie figured it out she confronted Faye on what she was doing to the circle.  Now infuriated, Faye asked Lee what he has done and how to undo the spell. Still had a good side inspite of being the bad witch, she did what she had to do but she can't undo what she did to the dance. The school was almost set on fire because of the flame she made real and the fake ice all went down and almost hurting the others.

What is truly exciting here is when Melissa fainted in the bathroom because she's losing her magic. Cassie went back in the school as it was on fire and tried to save Melissa. Too much smoke and it's suffocating her she fainted just as she noticed a blurry image of a guy on that remarkable boots came rushing towards her. The minute she woke up, she and Melissa are out in the lawn saved. Now you get an idea who that was if you notice in the entire episode his obscure presence as he lurks around all the time. Mysteriously hot guy!

In the end, we'll see Cassie at the abandoned house still puzzled about the symbol she saw and thought that maybe her father was trying to extract or expel the dark magic out of him. But Adam cuts her out and made another move and finally got what he was waiting for, to kiss Cassie! As they were kissing, footsteps came down the stairs and those boots were so familiar. The prodigal son has returned! The two were surprised seeing Jake standing there emotionless as he was...
